Winter...smh

Cold...Snow...Ice..I'm not a fan. You'd think being born in the middle of winter in the mid west and growing up in MD I'd be used to it, but I don't like any of it. I can tell you right now I'm not ready for winter. Being down south for the past 5 years has spoiled me somewhat. I forgot what it was like to get stuck in the snow, park at the top of the hill and walk home, pushing the car to get it unstuck. ITS ALL FOR THE BIRDS! you can seriously have it.

So this past weekend had been a weekend I'd been looking forward to for a couple of weeks. My crew (or as I like to call them The Fam) were all gonna go to my girls house to spend the weekend. And one thing about The Fam good food, premium juice and great laughs is always part of our time together. It was definitely gonna be a good weekend.

But if there is anything that will get me home, its the fact that I obsolutely love my own bed and room. If I'm in driving distance of my house...TRUST me...I will find my way there. So considering that fact and the fact that where I live you will either get snowed in the house for days or you will get stuck out and won't be able to get back for severial days. So I chose to go home.

Driving in the snow is nothing new to me, but driving in blizzard conditions is something else. Every few miles there were abondond cars or cars that had gotten into accidents. Naturally I'm a fast driver but I was probably averaging 30 to 40 mph. The snow was freezing on the windshield... there were points I couldn't see the white lines in the road. I finally gave up and drove however the spirit moved. We made it all the way from Bmore to about a mile from the house with no incidents. But there is this one hill right before we get home that I knew was gonna be trouble, so I told Lyd to pray us up. About half way up the hill the car wouldn't go anymore and started sliding on ice. So after much deliberation I was able to turn the car around. At the suggestion of my sibling...we gave it another try. We made it to the same spot and couldnt get it any further.

I tried to take it back down the hill but ended up sliding on some ice into a ditch (mind you my mom whats to sell this car)and hit a hill. Now I've learned a lot from my dad over the years but getting a car unstuck in the snow was not one of them. We had to to call our mom to come get us, gather what we could and walk up the rest of the hill to meet her. Walking up an icy, snowy hill in chucks isn't a very good idea btw, almost busted my butt a few times! The car ended up sitting there all weekend. It was definitely an interesting experience. Cold...Snow...Ice... I'm definitely not a fan...
